Type SCM is a single or multi-stage self-priming horizontal side channel pump. In addition to the self-priming ability side channel pumps have the advantage due to their high pressure coefficient, with promotion of small flow rates against relatively high pressure level, to work more economically than normal centrifugal pumps.

Due to the axial suction port and the upstream radial impeller, the SCM type achieves low NPSH values.The steps are sealed off from the atmosphere by chambered O-rings. The bearing of the pump shaft takes place in Sic plain bearings, on the drive side are permanently grease lubricated roller bearings arranged.

The pump has a permanent magnet coupling, and the containment shell hermetically seals the fluid to the outside. An internal circulation current dissipates the heat generated by eddy current losses.
